Steel on the right wagon, the lift plan signed, and a photo of every connection.
Structural steel goes up fast and gets covered up faster. Beams, columns, bracing and connections disappear behind fire protection and cladding, and the crane’s booked whether the steel’s arrived or not. Banksman keeps the RAMS and lift plans signed, the deliveries tracked to the gate, and a dated photo record of every connection.

What costs a steel erector a day.
- The problem
The crane’s on site and the steel isn’t.
Delivery sequence changed, the wagon’s on the wrong day, and you’re paying for a crane and a gang to stand.
With BanksmanEvery delivery is a request with a needed-by date, the supplier, the order ref and the expected delivery, so you can see it go from ordered to dispatched to delivered, with a photo at the gate.

- The problem
Nobody can prove the bolts were tightened before it was boxed in.
Six months later the engineer asks about a connection that’s now behind fire board.
With BanksmanSet each frame, bay or connection check as a task. The erector ticks it off with photos, stamped with the upload time from our server, the site and who took them.

- The problem
Lift plans and RAMS that half the gang never read.
Signed on paper in the cabin, if at all, and the revision’s already changed.
With BanksmanUpload the RAMS and lift plans so each erector reads and signs them with their finger. A new revision asks everyone to sign again, and you see who has signed what.

What you get.
Material requests
The worker asks for the item, quantity, unit and needed-by date. Tracked from requested to approved, ordered, dispatched and delivered (or declined), with supplier, order ref, expected delivery and a delivery photo.
Push notifications
Notifications go straight to the phone, so updates don’t sit unread.
Tasks with photo proof
The manager sets the task for each site, with a trade, priority and due date. The worker ticks it off and adds the photo to prove it. Filter by site, trade, status or priority.
Photo library
Every photo is stamped with the upload time from our server, the site, the task and who took it. Location is optional, set by the company.
Health and safety documents with sign-off
Inductions, RAMS and safety procedures on every phone. Each worker reads and signs with their finger, a new revision asks everyone to sign again, and you see who has signed what.
Site sign-in and sign-out
Sign in and out with a QR poster on site, with an optional location check at that moment only, and a fire roll call of who’s on site right now.
Drawings for every site
Drawings on every phone, labelled by version, sorted by site and downloadable on site.
Accident and near-miss reports
Report an accident or near miss from the phone, with stamped photos, while it’s fresh. Only the person who reported it and the managers can see it.

Daywork hours or price work per site or plot. The manager approves or queries with a reason, the worker fixes and resubmits. Grouped by week ending, CSV export, archived when paid.
Site group chats and direct messages
A group chat for every site, plus direct messages, kept apart from your personal phone chats.

Straight answers.
What app can steel erectors use for RAMS and lift plans?
Banksman lets you upload RAMS, method statements and lift plans so every erector reads and signs them on the phone. A new revision asks everyone to sign again, and you can see who has signed what. Check your own legal duties with your H&S adviser.
How do I keep a record of steel connections before they are covered?
Photograph each connection or bay before fire protection or cladding goes on, and keep the photos against the site and task. Banksman stamps each one with the upload time from our server, the site and who took it.
Can I track structural steel deliveries?
Yes. Each delivery request shows the needed-by date, supplier, order reference and expected delivery, and moves from requested to delivered with a photo of the drop.
Does Banksman do steel detailing or crane planning?
No. Keep your detailing and lift planning software. Banksman keeps the signed documents, photos, deliveries and hours for the job in one place.
Can I see who is on site during a lift?
Yes. Put a QR poster at the entrance and the team scans in and out with their phone. You can set a radius for each site so sign-ins from further away get flagged, and the dashboard shows a live roll call of who is on site, including for a fire evacuation. Location is checked at sign-in only, never tracked.
Can erectors log their hours per site?
Yes. Hours or price work are logged per site on the day, approved or queried by the manager, and exported to CSV for wages, grouped by week ending.
Can I report a near miss on the steel?
Yes. Accidents and near misses can be reported from the phone while it is fresh, with stamped photos. Only the person who reported it and the managers can see it, and each report has a status, actions and a RIDDOR flag. Check your own legal duties with your H&S adviser.
Does Banksman track CSCS, CPCS and IPAF cards?
Not yet. Card and certificate expiry tracking is being built and is marked "Coming soon" until it is live.
How do I check a CIS deduction?
Use the free CIS calculator on this site. CIS worker invoices built from approved timesheets are being built in Banksman and are marked "Coming soon".
